QA Academy

The QA Academy at Automaticity is a specialized institution dedicated to equipping participants with the skills and knowledge required for a successful career in QA automation. Our program is designed to cover topics essential for mastering QA processes. It is an opportunity for those aspiring to excel in software quality assurance.

The course is being held offline in our Classrooms. The total length is 3 months with 2 lectures a week that last for 4h each. Our curriculum is structured to provide a thorough understanding of QA automation, beginning with foundational topics and advancing through to cutting-edge automated testing techniques and tools.

 Here’s a detailed breakdown of the course content:

Week 1

  • Basics of Testing: Understanding the fundamental principles of software testing.
  • Software Development Process: Insight into how software is developed and the various stages involved.
  • Web Application Functionality: Learning the mechanics behind the operation of web applications.
  • Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC): A comprehensive look at the phases of SDLC.
  • Defect/Bug Lifecycle: Understanding how defects are managed throughout their lifecycle.

Week 2

  • Testing Techniques and Levels: Exploration of various testing methodologies and the levels at which they are applied.
  • Test Documentation: Learning to properly document test cases, suites, and data.
  • Bug Reporting: Mastering the art of reporting bugs effectively using tools like Jira and Trello.
  • Agile Methodology: An introduction to Agile principles and practices.
  • Scrum Framework: Detailed insights into Scrum processes and roles.

Week 3-5

  • JavaScript Basics: from variables, loops, and control flow to functions and asynchronous JavaScript
  • HTML & CSS: Understanding the DOM and basics of CSS for testing web applications

Week 5-6

  • DevTools Overview: Learning to use browser developer tools for testing.
  • Postman and API Testing: Introduction to API, HTTP protocol, and using Postman for API testing.
  • Version Control System: Mastery of Git and understanding CI/CD pipelines and GitHub Actions.

Week 7-10

  • Automation Testing with Playwright: Comprehensive training on using Playwright for automated testing, including E2E testing, API testing, and visual testing.

Week 11

Verify that applications can handle the expected traffic. Different goals require different tests: stress tests, spike tests, soak tests, smoke tests, etc.

Week 12

The two most successful participants get internships at Automaticity, so their QA story goes on immediately after the course.

Week 13-16

An internship where you will get a lot more knowledge about the life of the QA engineer and be prepared for your first job in the QA world.

Our program is heavily focused on practical application, offering 2 guaranteed internships to participants at Automaticity and the possibility of employment after finishing the internship. This hands-on experience is designed to integrate students into teams, preparing them for the workplace with minimal stress. We also ensure education on business communication rules and include sessions where our instructors share challenges faced in their daily work, providing invaluable insights into real-world applications.

The QA academy starts on 14.11.2024, and the price for the first 8 students is 1499€ 999€. Payment is available in 3 installments: the first installment is due before the start of the course, the second before the second month of the course, and the third before the third month. The number of spots is limited to 10.
